Malbasic Named to OCAA Hall of Fame

(WINDSOR, ON) – St. Clair College soccer player Robert Malbasic will be enshrined in the Ontario College Athletic Association Hall of Fame in a ceremony on May 8. Malbasic will be the 23rd athlete in St. Clair’s history to be inducted into the OCAA’s Hall of Fame and will be part of a class of 15 athletes from across the association to be included this year.

The bi-annual event will also induct five builders and five coaches this year.

St Clair’s Robert Malbasic will be inducted into the OCAA Hall of Fame during a ceremony in Toronto on 8 May 2019. Malbasic still holds the OCAA’s career scoring record of 55 goals over five seasons.

Malbasic played five seasons for the Saints from 2007 to 2011. He ended his career, and still is, the OCAA career scoring leader with 55 goals. He scored those goals in 46 regular season games. Robert had a huge year in his rookie season of 2007 when he scored 12 goals in 8 games and a was named an OCAA All Star, OCAA West Rookie of the Year, OCAA West and League Scoring Champion and a CCAA All Canadian.

Malbasic was also named an OCAA All Star in 2008 and 2009.

During his career with the Saints he helped lead the Saints to two Final Four appearances and was also the West Division and League scoring Champion in 2009 and the West’s scoring champ in 2011.
