(BOWMANVILLE, ON) – The Canadian Tire Motorsport Park hosted NASCAR’s Gander Outdoors Truck Series’ only Canadian stop on the 2019 circuit over 23-25 August weekend. Twenty-nine drivers vied for the checkered flag on Sunday as they competed in the Chevrolet Silverado 250.
Brett Moffitt, driving the No. 24 Chevrolet for GMS Racing, won for the second straight week as he led 45 of 64 laps. The victory was the fourth this season for the Grimes, IA, native, who also drives in for JR Motorsports in the NASCAR Xfinity Series.
Canadian Alex Tagliani placed second as Tag finished 5.16 seconds behind Moffitt. Also placing on the podium was Ben Rhodes of Louisville, KY. Sheldon Creed and Austin Hill rounded out the top five.
Moffitt currently leads the series standings with 2,135 points. Ross Chastain (2,113) and Stewart Friesen (2,091) are also in the top three with five races remaining. The Gander Outdoors Truck Series returns to Las Vegas for the World of Westgate 200 on September 13.
